Sestito A Flyer

Lifelong Columbus Blue Jacket Tom Sestito will now wear the orange and black after a Philly trade today. Sending prospects Michael Chaput and Greg Moore to Columbus, the Flyers got the man-size Sestito in exchange. Not playing since late December, Sestito has only played in 9 games for the Blue Jackets this season registering 2 goals and 2 assists. Sestito uses his 6'5" 228 pound body for screening the goalie and fighting. He has four fighting majors on the season.

Moore returns to Columbus after spending one season with Philly's minor league team the Adirondack Phantoms. In 57 games this season with the Phantoms, Moore had 7 goals and 13 assists. With 10 games of experience (6 with the Rangers in 2007-2008 and 4 with Columbus in 2009-2010), Moore has yet to get a point at the NHL level.

Chaput was drafted in the 3rd round (89th overall) by the Flyers in 2010. Yet to play a professional game in his hockey career, Chaput has played 152 games racking up 53 goals and 67 assists for the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).

Sestito's acquisition must be in case a lower line forward, such as Carcillo or Shelley, goes down before or doing the playoffs (similar to Holmgren's move of picking up Nick Boynton over the weekend for the defense).
