According to Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren, defenseman Chris Pronger has been cleared to due some light skating after visiting Dr. Raikin. He will be re-evaluated on January 12.The Flyers have gone 3-3-0 in the 6 games Pronger has missed since having surgery on December 18th. The effects of missing the veteran blueliner are noticeable considering the team averaged 5 goals against/game in a 4 game stretch from their home game against Florida to their visit to Anaheim (where Jason Blake scored 2 goals. Think about that).
If the timetable of 4-6 weeks recovery stays in place, Pronger could miss anywhere from another 5 to 11 games. Playing the Devils 3 times along with the Senators and Sabres once in the following weeks should help Philly through this span of games without their leader on defense.
